DP Mall was the first mall in Semarang to introduce travelator technology allowing visitors to bring their shopping carts anywhere in the mall. Operating since 2007, DP Mall is located in the golden triangle area in the city center. It is located close to the office of the mayor of Semarang and the historical Lawang Sewu building on Jl Pemuda Semarang, and was constructed on 2.6 hectares of land. 

The mall consists of three floors with parking lot to accommodate 900 vehicles and hundreds of motorcycles. It offers fashion items including clothing, shoes, bags, accessories, and jewelry. Other sections in the mall are dedicated to mobile phones, computers, laptops and other electronic goods. 

French retail giant Carrefour also calls DP Mall Semarang home and has a large branch here selling everything from apples to appliances and from fresh milk to folding bikes. There is also drugstore conveniently located inside the mall. For the hungry shopper their are ample opportunities to grab a bite to eat with the usual family favourites.
