BSD City, October 17, 2021 ー The Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) have significant contributions and roles for Indonesian economic growth. Sinar Mas Land, through the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Team of PT Bumi Serpong Damai (BSD) Tbk., acknowledges their importance. The company therefore has given intensive training and mentoring to the UMKM owners to help develop their businesses. This event is part of the company’s economic responsibility through its Small, Medium, Large (SML) UMKM Center.

There were 50 UMKM owners, supervised by the PT BSD Tbk.’s CSR team, joining the first training batch held every week from February to July 2021. Following the training, they attended mentoring sessions at Klinik SML UMKM Center from July to September 2021. As a final evaluation, the participants had to make a report on their business development. Their reports were presented and tested at SML UMKM Center on Jalan Palem Anggur Nomor 1, Rawa Buntu Subdistrict, Serpong District, South Tangerang, on Saturday (10/16).
CSR Head of BSD - Sinar Mas Land Maria Chatarina Octaviana S.P. said several competent practitioners and mentors would later put the participants and their reports to the test. “It shows the company’s commitment to develop the local economy. We also support the government’s programs to improve the UMKMs’ quality so they can compete at a local or global level.”
During the final test, the participants presented their final reports and the evaluation was based on three indicators namely digital marketing and branding, financial literacy and quality development, as well as business management model. Those three indicators were taught by Drs. Rujiyanto, M.Sn, Dra. Endang Retno Wardhani, M.BA, PhD., CHt., and Ir. Setya Sandi, S.E., M.M. This event is part of the Business Development Program (Program Bina Usaha) and has provided over 400 UMKM owners with entrepreneurship training.
